Jude Bellingham tries out the lift at his Madrid residence
Jude Bellingham and his doting mother reacted very differently upon surveying his opulent £5.5million home in Madrid for the first time. The Real Madrid and England star has unveiled the debut instalment of his YouTube series ‘Out of the Floodlights’ which offers a peek into his life off the pitch.
The first episode, named ‘Casa Blanca’, chronicles his final days with Borussia Dortmund as they just missed out on the Bundesliga on the final day of the season, followed by his transfer to Madrid. Following his unveiling at the Bernabeu, Bellingham is followed as he begins house-hunting, accompanied by his mother Denise, father Mark and footballer brother Jobe.
As she enters the property that will become her elder son’s home, Denise comments on the blistering summer heat, saying: “It’s extremely hot, he’s going to be sweltering.”
In contrast, Jude tries out the residence’s lift and is amused by its sluggishness, quipping: “I thought it would go ‘zoom’.” His tour extends to the mansion’s rear gardens, where spotting a fire pit gets him envisioning social gatherings. He adds: “Get a table there, some cards.”
Enamoured with the home, he muses: “I don’t want to go in too early then see something better, but I don’t want to walk away and see ‘sold’. It is nice, really nice.”
In the end, he does take it. The plush pad, in Madrid’s exclusive La Finca district, reportedly features high-end facilities such as a gym, home cinema, gourmet kitchen, private swimming pool and stunning views of the Lafinka Golf Club and surrounding mountains.

His ex-Real Madrid colleague Toni Kroos and Cristiano Ronaldo are said to own similar properties in the area. Denise has moved to Madrid to support her son and resides in the same sprawling 7,000-square-foot, six-bedroom mansion.
In a light-hearted moment from the series, Jobe quips that Jude is ‘useless’ in the kitchen, suggesting that if he learned to cook, their mum could stay back in England. Meanwhile, it’s Jude’s dad, Mark, 48, who remains in the UK to support brother Jobe, whose transfer to Sunderland last summer also features in the episode.
Reflecting on his meteoric journey from Birmingham City to Madrid, Jude says: “Three years from Birmingham to Madrid isn’t bad.”

On why he chose to give an intimate insight into his life, he says: “If it helps people to get to know me better, that’s great. If people are still unhappy then… [shrugs shoulders].”
Upcoming episodes will cover his remarkable debut season with Real, where he clinched both the La Liga title and the Champions League, defeating his previous club Dortmund in the final at Wembley.
Bellingham was absent from England’s recent Nations League matches against Ireland and Finland due to a calf injury. Following the injury, which occurred last month, Real announced: “Following tests carried out on Jude Bellingham by Real Madrid’s medical team, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg. His progress will be monitored.”
