Inter will hold a new round of talks with Denzel Dumfries in the coming days as they look to set up a new contract for the Aston Villa linked right back.
The 28-year-old was away at the European Championship with the Netherlands, where he featured heavily. He provided an assist in the quarter-final win over Turkey but failed to impress in the next round against England, where the Oranje lost 2-1.
Dumfries has just a year left on his contract with Inter and was heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa last month, but things have fallen quiet. A move to Manchester United also seemed possible at points but now looks unlikely.
Dumfries talks with Inter
TMW details how Inter are planning to offer Dumfries a new four-year contract and are planning to meet his representatives in the coming days to try and reach an agreement.
The 28-year-old currently earns around €2.5m net per season and would like a salary closer to €4m, whilst the Nerazzurri have been hoping to find a deal just above €3m. The two parties could reach a middle ground in the upcoming meeting.
