Ilkay Gundogan could reportedly leave Barcelona after just one season in Spain
Ilkay Gundogan is one of 10 players who could leave Barcelona FC this summer with Hansi Flick reportedly looking to shake up his squad. The former Germany boss is preparing for his first season in charge of the Catalan giants, who will be desperate to beat Real Madrid in the La Liga title race.
It seems likely that Barcelona will oversee a high turnover of players before the window slams shut as Flick looks to reshape the squad in his image. They recently paid a small fee to land Pau Víctor from Girona while over £15million has been raised through the sales of Chadi Riad, Marc Guiu and Estanis Pedrola.
More players will be sold over the coming weeks, with Sport reporting that Gundogan is one of several names to have been placed on the chopping block. It is said that he would prefer to stay at the Nou Camp, but a suitable offer from elsewhere could test Barcelona’s resolve.
Hansi Flick is reportedly looking to shake up his squad for the new season
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have recently been linked with a move for Gundogan, who joined Barcelona from Manchester City last summer. He is only tied down until the end of the season, giving them a dilemma over whether to cash in or risk losing him for nothing in the near future.
The report adds that nine other players could leave Barcelona as part of a mass exodus in the final weeks of the transfer window. Julian Araujo, Clement Lenglet, Mikayil Faye, Raphinha, Ansu Fati and Vitor Roque could all be forced out while the futures of other players are less certain.

Inigo Martinez is liked by Flick but could reportedly be sold to ease Barcelona’s wage bill, while Alex Valle is admired by other clubs and has a release clause of just £2.5m. Hector Fort, meanwhile, could depart on loan if he ends up slipping behind Valle in the pecking order.
In terms of players coming in, Dani Olmo is set to be confirmed as Barcelona’s latest signing after undergoing a medical earlier this week. A transfer fee of around £53m has reportedly been agreed with RB Leipzig and Olmo is expected to sign a six-year contract.
Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams was linked with a move to Barcelona earlier in the window after impressing for Spain at Euro 2024. However, the 22-year-old confirmed on Tuesday that he would be staying at Bilbao and told fans that he was looking forward to the upcoming season.
