Harry Kane has been hit with a hamstring injury setback, Bayern Munich confirmed, after the England ace limped off during their recent 1-1 Bundesliga stalemate against Borussia Dortmund. The prolific striker, who has netted an impressive 20 goals in 19 appearances this season, will be out of action “for the time being” following a scan by the club’s medical team.
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany revealed post-match that Kane was optimistic about the severity of his injury but required further assessment. A statement from the German champions on Sunday morning clarified: “Harry Kane picked up a minor muscle strain in his right hamstring in FC Bayern’s Bundesliga match at Borussia Dortmund yesterday. This was confirmed by a scan carried out by the FC Bayern medical unit. Bayern will therefore be without Kane, 31, for the time being.”
With a packed schedule ahead, including a DFB-Pokal tie and Champions League duties, Bayern will feel the absence of their star forward during the festive fixtures.
