Everton and Luton Town get the ball rolling for Gameweek 36 this evening, and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers have until 6.30pm to make changes to their squads. Several key players are doubts ahead of the blockbuster weekend of football, Express Sport takes you through all the latest injury news…

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

Injury problems are stacking up at Old Trafford, and Erik ten Hag has revealed that Fernandes is a doubt for his side’s trip to Selhurst Park on Monday night. The Portuguese playmaker has never missed a United match through injury but is now carrying a problem. Ten Hag did not entirely rule his skipper out though, saying: “he is a doubt for Monday, but he will fight to be a part of this game. Never rule him out for any game, and he is giving his best to be available.”

Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace)

Another star who is a doubt for Monday night is Eze, who picked up a knock against Newcastle last week. The midfielder was keen to feature against Fulham over the weekend but manager Oliver Glasner ruled against the idea, not wanting to ‘risk it’. Eze featured for Palace’s Under-23s on Monday instead, playing 62 minutes without any fresh concerns.

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

Ten Hag has confirmed that Rashford is very unlikely to feature in Gameweek 36, revealing that there is no return date set for his fresh injury. He said: “With Marcus, I can’t tell [when he will be back]. It was last week, after Coventry, and his issue hasn’t healed so far.”

Ederson

Ederson (Manchester City)

Ederson was withdrawn at half-time in City’s win over Nottingham Forest last weekend with a shoulder injury, and Pep Guardiola was far from optimistic when asked about the issue after full-time. The Spaniard said: “It doesn’t look good, we will see tomorrow with the doctor.” Cut-price City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega (£3.7m) could quickly become an attractive asset for FPL managers if Ederson is ruled out for the next few weeks.

Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)

Martinez did not feature in Villa’s 4-2 defeat at the hands of Olympiacos on Thursday night, and the Argentine remains a doubt for his side’s clash with Brighton on Sunday with a hamstring problem. Asked on Wednesday whether the 31-year-old would be fit for the trip to the Amex Stadium, Unai Emery said: “I don’t know, he is feeling better.”

Kieran Trippier (Newcastle)

Magpies defender Trippier travelled to the NAS Sports Complex in Dubai earlier this week to step up his return from his calf injury, and the clash with former side Burnley may come too soon in his recovery. The England international is hopeful of being fit for Newcastle’s final match of the season against Brighton.

Fabian Schar (Newcastle)

Another injury doubt for Eddie Howe’s side is Schar, who was replaced at halftime in his side’s win over Sheffield United last weekend. The injury was revealed as being ‘tightness in his hamstring’ rather than a more significant issue, though Howe insisted that the Swiss international couldn’t sprint after sustaining the problem and therefore remains a doubt for this weekend.
