Sky Sports’ live game on Monday night is the Bundesliga play-off second leg, a game second-tier Dusseldorf go into as firm favourites for promotion.
Having finished third in the second tier, they earned the right to face Bochum – third bottom in the division above – in this play-off tie, the winner of which will play in the Bundesliga next season.
And they already appear to have one foot in the top flight having won the away leg 3-0 last Thursday, leaving Bochum with a mountain to climb.
The visitors now have little option but to attack from the start in Dusseldorf but that will surely simply just open them up even more – this is a side who conceded 74 goals in 34 league games this season, the second worst record in the Bundesliga.
They come into this game having conceded 17 times in their last five matches.
Expect Dusseldorf to pick them off.
They have suffered just one defeat in their last 16 games – and that was against Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Pokal (German Cup), a side who went unbeaten domestically all season.
Dusseldorf have scored 2+ goals in 11 of those 16 games so they look well equipped to finish off Bochum here.
They look a tempting price of 3/14.00 to win by two clear goals again and if that happens then there’s every chance top scorer Christos Tzolis finds the target.
The Norwich loanee didn’t score in the first leg but he still has 13 goals in his last 14 appearances and the wide man will surely look to exploit any gaps as Bochum inevitably push forward.
Put the two legs into a Bet Builder and you get a tasty-looking 11/26.50 shot, hopefully a good way to start the final week of the European club season.
