Fans love what Rui Patricio did for Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal’s victory

Cristiano Ronaldo may be the highest-paid athlete in history – but he needed to borrow a jacket following Portugal’s latest victory.
The 38-year-old, who is on a £177million-a-year deal at Al Nassr, helped his side beat Iceland 2-0 in their final Euro 2024 qualifier on Sunday night.

It was Portugal’s tenth straight win in qualifying with the Euro 2016 winners triumphing in every game under Roberto Martinez‘s tutelage so far.
Following the full-time whistle, Ronaldo gave his shirt away, but was left feeling rather cold as he showed off his impressive physique.
Thankfully for the Manchester United legend, ex-Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio was on hand to save the day.
The Roma shot-stopper, who was an unused substitute, was filmed taking off his jacket to give to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Social media was loving the heartwarming exchange, as one X user said: “Look at the love and respect of Rui Patricio towards Cristiano Ronaldo.
“This is what today’s young generations are missing in the squad.”
Another posted: “One of the most underrated goalkeeper showing love and keeping the GOAT safe.”
A third added: “Now that is a legend.”

This fan then commented: “Rui has been solid for Portugal for so long. One of the favs.”
Meanwhile this user simply stated: “Amazing.”
Ronaldo has enjoyed a spectacular qualifying campaign – scoring ten goals in nine games.
Only Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku has scored more than the Real Madrid icon, with his four-goal haul against Azerbaijan bringing his tally to 14.
