Arsenal’s summer transfer window finally sparked into life with the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori late last month.
The defender, who caught the eye at Euro 2024, put pen to paper on a deal worth up to £42million, add-ons included.
Calafiori was the first new addition to the Arsenal squad this summer, but the Italian wasn’t the only deal the Gunners had completed during the off-season.
David Raya, who had spent last summer on loan at the north London outfit, made his move from Brentford a permanent one, with the Bees receiving £27million from the Premier League hopefuls.
It takes Arsenal’s summer spending to close to £70m, but more additions are expected to arrive before the window slams shut later this month.
As a result, Express Sport runs through Arsenal’s dream final month of the transfer window.
Leroy Sane’s future is believed to be up in the air at Bayern Munich.
Deal struck for ex-Man City ace
Bolstering Arsenal’s attack could prove to be Mikel Arteta’s priority for the remainder of the month, with Leroy Sane mooted as a potential option.
The ex-Manchester City star has been linked with a move to the Premier League runners-up, according to reports from Sky Germany.
Sane, who spent four years in the Premier League with City, has just one year left on his deal at the Allianz Arena, with Bayern contemplating whether or not to cash in.
A devastating wide forward, the 28-year-old would immediately elevate Arsenal’s options at left wing, while providing some much-needed Premier League-winning experience.
Mikel Merino was part of Spain’s Euro 2024 winning side.
Mikel Merino adds midfield cover
Arsenal have found success in the past with midfielders named Mikel, with Merino the latest on their radar.
It’s reported a verbal proposal has been submitted by Arsenal, as they look to land the Real Sociedad ace.
Arsenal are believed to have offered £25m for Merino, who also has 12 months left to run on his contract with the Spanish side.
Adding the Euro 2024 winner to their ranks would sure up Arsenal’s midfield options, while also helping lighten the load on first-choice options Declan Rice, Jorginho and Martin Odegaard.
Academy talents continue to boost PSR
Reiss Nelson is just one of several academy products whose time at the club could be ending.
It’s unlikely to be all incomings for Arsenal this summer, with outgoings also needed to help balance the books.
Emile Smith Rowe has boosted Arsenal’s balance sheet somewhat, with the academy product moving to Fulham for an initial £27m.
But Smith Rowe won’t be the only London Colney graduate to leave if the Arsenal bigwigs get their way.
Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson have both been tipped to leave, with their exits counting as pure profit for the north Londoners.
Deadwood moved on to freshen up the squad
Aaron Ramsdale has been rumoured as a potential Arsenal exit this summer.
Alongside the academy players, Arsenal should also be looking to free up some spots in their squad, to ensure there aren’t any players in the dressing room unhappy with their game time.
One of those could be Aaron Ramsdale, who was shunned to one side last season, with Dan Bentley rumoured as a potential cheap replacement.
Elsewhere, Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares are expected to be moved on during the summer window.
With Albert Sambi Lokonga another exiled Arsenal player who could bag himself a permanent transfer.
