Everton, Newcastle and Wolves want to sign Angers ace Batista Mendy

Everton, Newcastle and Wolves are reportedly keen on signing Angers midfielder Batista Mendy in this transfer window.

According to L’Equipe [07 June], the relegated side now are looking for a fee in the region of £5million to part ways with the 23-year-old.

The Toffees, along with the other clubs keen, will want to take advantage of their relegation to Ligue 2 and negotiate for a lower price.

Versatile

Mendy will be looking to leave Angers due to their relegation and will be delighted to see himself having Premier League suitors.

Even if he had stayed up, a move to the English top flight will have been considered a step up and signing him would not have been an issue.

It remains to be seen if he does end up leaving the French club, where he goes, as Newcastle may prove to be a more lucrative option.

Not only will he get paid more, he’ll also have the chance of playing Champions League football – something that’s a dream for any footballer.

Everton go into the market with the moniker of being a team battling relegation rather than aiming to finish in the top half.

They have been linked with high-profile players recently but it remains to be seen how many they end up signing.
