Erik ten Hag has taken a dig at Arne Slot.
Under-pressure Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has hit out at incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Ten Hag managed in the Eredivisie at the same time as Slot, but the Dutchman hinted his compatriot has been over-hyped.
Slot is set to take over from the departing Jurgen Klopp this summer, with questions about his suitability for the role raised by Ten Hag.
The 54-year-old suggested that Peter Bosz had a more impressive season, having led PSV Eindhoven to the Eredivisie title.
Speaking about Slot’s move to Liverpool, Ten Hag told The Daily Mirror: “People have been going overly lyrical about Feyenoord.
“Feyenoord were steady this year, but not top. PSV Eindhoven were two classes better in all areas.
“In terms of dominating the ball, in terms of putting pressure, in terms of intensity, you name it.
“Bosz and his staff did that top notch, but the rest of the club is also well put together.
“PSV Eindhoven were better than the rest by such a long distance, even so much better than Feyenoord.”

Erik ten Hag won his second trophy in two years as United boss this weekend.
PSV ended the campaign a whopping seven points clear of Feyenoord, who failed to beat the league winners in either of their Eredivisie meetings this season.
What’s more, PSV led the league for both goals scored and goals conceded, with the Eindhoven-based outfit also making it to the last-16 of the Champions League, where they were beaten by eventual finalists Borussia Dortmund.
Regardless, Ten Hag believes Slot is joining Liverpool with their squad in a stronger place than United were when he took over the Red Devils in 2022.
On Liverpool’s current position, Ten Hag told. Voetbal International: He [Slot] comes into a better position than I did at the time when I went to Manchester United from the Netherlands.

“In terms of structure at the club, in terms of balance in the selection.
“Last year they [Liverpool] had a transition in the team. Then guys like Fabinho and Jordan Henderson left.
“Last season at Liverpool, they also had a bit of the year we had now, with a lot of injuries.”
The United manager has been linked with a move away from United, despite guiding the club to their first FA Cup triumph since 2016.
United defied the odds over the weekend to lift the FA Cup, having edged a 2-1 encounter with rivals Manchester City.
