Eberechi Eze 'on the radar of Liverpool and Tottenham' and has release clause

Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly set to battle it out to secure the signature of Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze.

The playmaker impressed last season, with his form improving markedly following the arrival of Oliver Glasner during the final few months of the campaign.

The versatile playmaker scored 11 goals and registered four assists in 27 league appearances for the Eagles, and his performances did not go unnoticed among the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’.

Liverpool and Tottenham are both keen to bolster their attacking ranks this summer, and TBR Football report that Eze is being eyed by both outfits as part of their respective overhauls.

The 25-year-old signed a new deal with Palace late last year which is said to have seen a release clause inserted into his contract worth ‘at least £60million’.

The Eagles have insisted that they have no interest in entertaining offers which fall below Eze’s release clause and that any fee should be paid in full, rather than negotiating deals which would see a different payment structure discussed.

Manchester City have also been linked with making a move for Eze previously, and Pep Guardiola’s side could be in the market for creative reinforcements if Bernardo Silva departs. City have been linked with Lucas Paqueta previously but the West Ham playmaker is no longer viewed as a suitable option as has been charged by the FA for breaching betting rules.

Liverpool will be hoping to fend off interest from the title holders for Eze by activating his release clause sooner rather than later, and a fee in the region of £60m could quickly become a bargain if the ex-QPR star impresses at the Euros following his England selection.

Tottenham are also long-term admirers of Eze and have shortlisted the forward as one of their top targets this summer as they look to bolster their front line.

The Palace star has showcased previously that he is capable of playing on either wing and as a No. 10, and his versatility is likely to prove very attractive to Ange Postecoglou given that the Aussie is desperate to improve his options and depth in the final third.

Tottenham are said to be looking to offload Bryan Gil and Richarlison this summer, so the arrival of Eze would ensure that Spurs are not left looking light on either flank heading into next season.
