David de Gea could be demoted to Manchester United’s No.2 as Diogo Costa and David Raya linked

David de Gea could be replaced as Manchester United number one this summer, despite expecting to sign a new deal at the club.
There has been a lot of talk about De Gea’s future at United this season, with the goalkeeper only having one year left on his current contract.
Numerous mistakes during the campaign haven’t helped with the feeling from many that the team would be better off signing a replacement this summer.
And despite the fact that the club have been in talks over extending the 32-year-old’s contract the club continue to be linked with other options.
According to the Daily Mail it seems that the idea is to keep the Spanish goalkeeper in the squad for next season but he is unlikely to be first choice.
Amongst the options for the club are either Brentford shot stopper David Raya or Porto keeper Diogo Costa, with the former likely to be cheaper.

Raya has a year left to run on his deal in west London and has reportedly turned down two offers from Thomas Franck’s side to stay on.
He has been linked to be a replacement for Hugo Lloris at Tottenham Hotspur and despite being able to walk away for nothing in a year’s time Brentford are thought to want up to £40 million.
Porto goalkeeper Costa has been linked with United for a number of months with the 23-year-old impressing in his first two years as first choice.
He could cost as much as £65 million and Ten Hag’s team are again said to have competition from a league rival, with Newcastle United supposedly interested.
The Red Devils’ summer planning has been put into question by how long it’s taking the Glazers to sell the club, with no preferred bidder named yet.
