Curtis Jones showed his true personality in a special moment with a superfan
Curtis Jones showed his kind-hearted personality by handing his shirt over to a young fan, following Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday. Earlier that week, the Reds celebrated a glorious win at the San Siro against AC Milan in the Champions League, and continued their stellar performance into the weekend in the Premier League.
Luis Diaz put his side ahead with two rapid goals before Nunez’s strike wrapped up all three points and a quick response from their recent Nottingham Forest mishap. A heartwarming exchange between Jones and one fan was captured on the Anfield tunnel cam and shared on the club’s YouTube channel, showing Jones embracing the youngster after handing his match-worn shirt over.
Jones and the young Liverpool fan have met previously, which was shown in another touching video on the team’s YouTube channel. The 23-year-old received a letter and a visit from Claire, the mother of teen Harry, who shared her son’s determination throughout illness and adoration for the Merseyside outfit.
Claire said: “He was born with Williams syndrome, which is a really rare genetic condition. When he was three weeks old, he had his first operation, and then he’s also had emergency, life-saving operations.
“I’ve lost track of the amount of appointments, therapies and things he’s had, but he’s so brave. He finds things really hard but he does them anyway. When he comes and sits in the Kop, he says it feels like coming home.”
Jones took time out of his schedule to surprise Harry during his volunteer work at the social enterprise bakery Homebaked, before treating him to an exclusive tour of Anfield and introducing him to some more Liverpool stars. Alexis MacAllister, Ibrahima Konate and Konstantinos Tsimikas all stopped for a chat with Harry, while Jones dedicated his entire day to talking all things Liverpool with him.

Jones didn’t stop there; he surprised Harry further by offering him the chance to score a penalty in front of the Kop on matchday – a chance that Harry grabbed with both hands as he scored with ease.
Fans have shared their love for the surprise online, commenting on how Jones’ genuine care and warmth radiated throughout the video. One said: “Even though it’s a promotion you can see Curtis genuinely cares about Harry, the City and the fans. Lovely stuff.” Another added: “Curtis Jones, what a top lad!”
Jones will undoubtedly be looking forward to having Harry cheer him on from the stands, as Liverpool face West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.
