Crystal Palace’s January signing shares he’s been told about Anfield ahead of Liverpool clash

Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz has shared what he has been told about the Anfield atmosphere as the Eagles prepare to face Liverpool this weekend.

Of course, there is something even more special about every game at Anfield in what remains of this campaign.

Liverpool have reached the final weeks of Jurgen Klopp‘s tenure. And with the Reds fighting for the Premier League title, the Liverpool fans are doing absolutely everything they can to give their side any advantage possible.

With that, it is likely to be a daunting trip for Crystal Palace this weekend. Oliver Glasner’s men were beaten by Manchester City last time out, with Kevin De Bruyne in full flight.

And their latest opportunity to have a say in the title race comes when they travel to Merseyside on Sunday.

It has been a difficult start to life at Selhurst Park for Daniel Munoz following his arrival in January. The 27-year-old has only won once in his first nine Premier League appearances.

But speaking to Crystal Palace’s official website, Munoz shared how much he is looking forward to facing the Reds.

“I think these games are always important,” he said. “When you play against the best teams in the world, it motivates you. It gives you a boost to do things better.

“I’ve been told the atmosphere at Anfield can be like South America, so I’m looking forward to it, and I hope our individual and group level is up to the task.

“We know Liverpool are a great team with great players, with a lot of individual and group quality and ability, but more importantly we want to have a great game as a team – and bring home the three points.”

Jurgen Klopp’s men have found another gear since January announcements

Liverpool probably feel that they need to be flawless in what remains of the domestic season. Both Manchester City and Arsenal have been in unbelievable form as well. And there is only one point separating the top three right now.

Klopp’s decision to leave does appear to have given Liverpool an extra gear.

So Palace are probably going to need to be nearly perfect this weekend if they are going to stand any chance of putting a dent in their title hopes.
