Chelsea’s Cole Palmer wants to win the Ballon d’Or
Chelsea sensation Cole Palmer has revealed his lofty ambitions that he aspires to clinch football’s most esteemed personal accolade in the future.
The young Blues star placed 25th in the recent Ballon d’Or contest, won by Manchester City’s Rodri, yet is setting his sights on the iconic golden ball in the future.
“Ballon d’Or, that’s what everyone wants to win,” Palmer said while appearing on the Men In Blazers podcast. “I wish.”
Chelsea have soared to remarkable heights this season with newcomer Palmer leading the side. The England ace envisions Champions League success and lifting a trophy as marks of true triumph this year.
He further commented: “Champions League would be a success, and hopefully winning a trophy.”
Palmer’s rise to prominence has dramatically changed his lifestyle – he finds himself an easily recognizable face even during mundane activities like visiting a McDonald’s Drive-Thru.
Yet amid his newfound fame, what Palmer yearns for is the simplicity of kicking a ball about with his friends. “Yeah, it (my life) has changed massively,” he acknowledged.
“(I miss) going to play five-a-side. I swear that’s actually true. Yeah, just going to five-a-side with mates and playing.”
