Chelsea will now make bid for £67m man who is better than Haaland
Chelsea are now set to make a bid for Juventus No.9 Dusan Vlahovic as Mauricio Pochettino prepares to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to Italian football agent Massimo Brambati.
If Chelsea are to sign Dusan Vlahovic – however – they face some fierce competition.
What’s the story?
Well, Brambati believes Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in the Serbia international.
The agent told Tutto Mercato Web Radio: “I know that Vlahovic is being sought by three big names such as Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid and for what they tell me he will be sacrificed in the summer. In my opinion, Juve will take these offers seriously.”
Chelsea find themselves somewhat disadvantaged in this transfer battle as they will not be able to offer the 23-year-old Champions League football next season.
However, the Blues are financially stronger in comparison to Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid, which could swing things in their favour.
Interest in Vlahovic – who cost Juventus £66.6m – comes after he scored 14 goals in 41 appearances so far this season.
Chelsea could sign a gem in Vlahovic
While Vlahovic – who Graham Potter was said to be a big fan of – has endured an underwhelming season at Juventus this term, there is no denying that he is a talented striker.
In fact, Nenad Bjekovic – President of the Serbian Football Association – even claimed that the Chelsea target is better than Erling Haaland.
Goal quote the 75-year-old as saying: “Vlahovic is better and more complete than Haaland.”
Of course, Bjekovic could be accused of being biased towards his fellow countryman, although that is still quite the statement regardless.
If Vlahovic even has half the impact Haaland has made on English football – the Norwegian has remarkably scored 52 goals for Manchester City this season – then he would certainly be worth signing for Chelsea.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as it sounds like Juventus are open to selling their talisman this summer.
