Chelsea have reportedly tabled an offer for Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Enzo Maresca is keen to breathe a new lease of life into his recently acquired squad over the coming months, with a new striker being eyed as well as a central defender.

The former Foxes is also keen to reunite with Dewsbury-Hall at Stamford Bridge as part of his midfield reshuffle, with The Athletic reporting that Chelsea have now tabled a bid for the playmaker.

The Blues made contact with the Foxes on Thursday to sound out their interest in acquiring the services of the Englishman, and a formal bid is now on the table and negotiations are ongoing – with platers potentially being included in the deal.

Dewsbury-Hall was closing in on a move to Brighton before the approach from Chelsea and he has now opted to snub the Seagulls in favour of reuniting with his former manager.

The Englishman enjoyed a sensational campaign under Maresca’s guidance last season, scoring 12 goals and registering 14 assists as he helped Leicester return to the Premier League.

However, the Foxes’ financial situation has always been an issue since their return to the top-flight and they must raise funds via player sales before July 1 to ensure that they avoid any further Profit and Sustainability Rules issues.

Dewsbury-Hall therefore appears to be the likeliest candidate to depart, having been linked with numerous top clubs since the Championship season has concluded.
