Jadon Sancho could be joining Chelsea.
Chelsea are reportedly set to make a shock move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. Despite being welcomed back into the fold at Old Trafford this summer, the 24-year-old’s future is still up in the air after his explosive fallout with Erik ten Hag last season.
According to reports in Germany, it’s United’s Premier League rivals who are now showing interest in the winger.
The west London club are said to be prepared to offer not just a transfer fee, but also two academy players as part of a swap deal.
Chelsea are also prepared to discuss a loan deal for Sancho with an obligation to buy, while covering his entire salary. The former England player earns around £350,000-a-week at United, with his deal running until 2026.
It initially appeared that PSG were in pole position to sign Sancho after starting discussions over a move. However, a proposed swap deal with United involving midfielder Manuel Ugarte appears to have fallen through.
The Uruguayan appears surplus to requirements in Paris after being left out of first team training sessions, but the Ligue 1 champions are still demanding a sizeable fee. And Chelsea are preparing to pounce with Sancho now in danger of being left in limbo this season.

Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after Ten Hag banished him from squad training and from using first-team facilities. That followed the player accusing his manager of making him a ‘scapegoat’ after he was dropped from a defeat at Arsenal in September.
The Dutchman attributed his decision to Sancho’s perceived lack of effort in training. But he would go on to restore his reputation during his second stint in Germany, helping the club to the Champions League final, where they were beaten by Real Madrid.
But he has made a surprise return to the fold this summer and travelled with United on the summer tour of America. He also appeared as a late substitute in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City.

And Ten Hag has said that the door is open to the player after showdown talks when he returned for pre-season training. “We spoke well,” he said. “Everyone can make a mistake. If the player reflects on this well, you draw a line and move on.
“This club needs good players, and one thing is certain: Jadon Sancho is a very good player. I hope that we will still click and that he will contribute to our success.”
