Chelsea may be prepared to outbid Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp to sign ‘incredible’ £50m player

Chelsea may have an advantage over Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.
That is according to Sky Sports.
We’ve heard plenty of transfer speculation this summer regarding Chelsea’s interest on Romeo Lavia, who’s a talented young midfielder at Southampton. There’s been plenty of links to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, too.
Now, fresh speculation suggests Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea side could be willing to outbid their rivals.

Sky Sports claims that Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all engaged with Lavia’s representatives regarding a potential transfer.
It is understood that Southampton want close to £50million to sell the highly-rated defensive midfielder in this window, but Arsenal and Liverpool are not prepared to pay that much given their current spending this summer. There’s nothing to say Chelsea wouldn’t meet the asking price, though.
The report explains that the Blues are current prioritising a deal to sign Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, but they’ve still registered interest in Lavia.

Described as “incredible” by Pep Guardiola (Manchester City’s official website), Lavia has a big valuation on his head for what he did last season in Southampton colours.
Yes, the 19-year-old was a regular for a Saints line-up that were poor and ultimately relegated from the Premier League. However, the Belgian teenager really stood out head and shoulders above most of his teammates.
We feel you would be paying partly for potential with the Southampton talent, but he’s an aggressive midfielder with a lot of great physical and technical attributes.
The mass exodus in the Chelsea squad has left the centre of the park looking very weak, so it would be great to bring in a couple more bodies in that position as Mauricio Pochettino works during pre-season.
