Chelsea could now make move for £35m striker next summer, Real Madrid also want him

Chelsea are one club who could make a move for Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram next summer.

That is according to InterLive.

A recent report from their website claims that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid could all target Marcus Thurman in 2024. It also states that he could cost around €40m (£34.8m).

Thurman only signed for Inter during the summer, joining from Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer, but has made a really strong start to life at the San Siro.

In four Serie A appearances, the 26-year-old has scored two goals and provided two assists.

Ivan Toney alternative

The striker who Chelsea seem to really want right now is Toney. According to the Daily Mirror, the Blues are likely to be in the race for the Brentford man’s signature in January.

However, if they cannot land Toney for whatever reason, perhaps Thuram could be a good alternative to the England international.

Thuram had a good campaign at Gladbach last term, reaching double figures for goals in the Bundesliga, can play in more than one position in the frontline and stands at 6 ft 4, making him a great fit for the Premier League.

For £35m as well, if that really is the price Inter could be willing to do business at, the France international could be an absolute bargain in this current market.

All in all, Thuram is certainly a name worth considering in the new year, especially if Chelsea fail to sign Toney from their west London rivals Brentford.
