Chelsea are refusing to pay 22-year-old huge money

Chelsea are refusing to increase their salary offer to Manuel Ugarte as the chances of losing out to PSG increase.
That is according to Record in Portugal.
As a result, Mauricio Pochettino may need to start looking for alternatives to Ugarte.
What’s the story?
Well, a separate story from Record claimed that the 22-year-old is now reconsidering his future.
Ugarte was initially keen to join Chelsea over PSG, as he prefers to play in the Premier League.
However – after a meeting with Todd Boehly – the South American was informed that Chelsea had only offered £1.7m-a-year in terms of wages, which is 50% of the salary PSG have put on the table.
Now – according to a new story from Record – Chelsea will not go any higher, meaning there is a genuine possibility that Pochettino misses out on Ugarte.

The Sporting CP No.15 has risen to stardom this season with his consistently brilliant performances in Portugal, where his ability to win the ball back in true N’Golo Kante style has caught the eye of many.
Statistically, it was even discovered that Ugarte would be the ideal partner for Enzo Fernandez, as the Uruguayan excels at things the Argentina international is fairly average at.
Ugarte could come back to haunt Chelsea
Some Chelsea fans may not be too upset about missing out on Ugarte as long as he moves to PSG, as it would mean he isn’t strengthening a rival.
However, that may not be the case.
As aforesaid, Ugarte wants to play in the Premier League, and another Portuguese news outlet in A Bola are claiming that Manchester United have now entered the race to sign him.
The Red Devils would be able to offer the South American more than £1.7m-a-year, as well as the chance to play Champions League football.
Therefore, Chelsea fans may end up seeing Ugarte at Stamford Bridge next season, but in red rather than blue.
