Hansi Flick lifted the 2020 Champions League with Bayern Munich.
Former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has reportedly held talks with Manchester United and West Ham after being ruled out of the running to take over at Chelsea. Flick has been out of work since leaving his role as German national coach last year, following a poor run of results.
The sacking compounded a fall from grace for the 59-year-old, who had enjoyed a history-making two years in charge of Bayern before leving for the Germany job in 2021. During the 2019/20 camapign, he guided the Bavrarian giants to a Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League treble.
He followed that up with European Super Cup and FIFA World Club Cup glory and lifted another top-flight title the following season. Flick left having lost just seven games in two years in all competitions.
And according to TBR Football, he’s now ready to return to club management and has targeted a role in England. Representatives are said to have had talks with both United and the Hammers and informed the Premier League outfits of his availability.

Flick was sacked as Germany coach last year.
Neither club currently has a vacancy, but both are being widely tipped to make changes at the helm in the summer. West Ham’s harrowing 5-0 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday enhanced the notion that David Moyes will depart at the end of the 2023/24 campaign when his contract expires, with no sign of a new deal on the table for the Scot.
The situation at Old Trafford is more complex, with Erik ten Hag’s current deal not expiring until June 2025. The Dutchman has been defiant over speculation on his future, and last week insisted he expects to be in charge for the next campaign.
But new minority stakeholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has declined to offer any public backing to the Dutchman since coming on board in December. And United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League this season has piled pressure on the former Ajax boss.

But one club it seems Flick won’t be heading to is Chelsea. According to the Athletic, bosses have issued Mauricio Pochettino an ultimatum, with the Argentinian facing the sack if he can’t secure Champions League qualification.
Flick however, along with other candidates Jose Mourinho, Ruben Amorim, and Antonio Conte, are said to be ‘ruled out’ of any potential race to succeed Pochettino. Links to Barcelona have also now been dismissed after the club confirmed Xavi had reversed his decision to step down.
