Celtic have been very active in the summer transfer window already. They have made a couple of signings, adding Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio to their ranks. A third arrival could be close as well, with rumours picking up momentum regarding a move for Yang Hyun-jun of Gangwon FC. On the other hand, Jota has headed out in order to join Al-Ittihad for a transfer package believed to be around €30 million.
Of course, Celtic need to strengthen their first-team ranks, in order to give Brendan Rodgers the best chance to make his second stint at the club a major success. But at the same time, they need to bring in players keeping the future in mind as well.
If there is one complaint that Celtic fans have had in recent years, it is regarding the club’s inability to bring through youngsters into the starting XI. Could that change in the future?
As reported by Football League World, Celtic and Brentford are leading the transfer race for Watford’s Jack Grieves. They are among a host of clubs interested in the youngster.

Grieves is just 18 years of age and plays as a striker. It is quite clear that he is very highly rated and has impressed at the youth levels, when you consider the teams that are interested in signing him.
Someone like Grieves could be a solid addition to Celtic’s youth ranks and has the potential to eventually break into the first-team. It remains to be seen if they are able to get a deal done though.
Despite all the interest in Grieves’ signature, the idea of him staying on at Watford and signing a new deal with them has not been ruled out either. Let’s see how things play out for the 18-year-old.
