Brighton star keen on joining Liverpool- The 4th Official
In a recent segment on Youtube (5:10), renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Brighton and Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister is tempted by the prospect of joining Liverpool. Romano said,
“They presented the project, presented the financial proposal. Now it’s up to Mac Allister; he’s tempted. Liverpool are advancing but it’s not a done deal.
“So it’s not as if Mac Allister and Liverpool have agreed everything and now the deal is completed. We have to wait on that side, for sure, Liverpool are the frontrunners.”
Mac Allister’s Excellent Form In Both Club And International Football This Season
Mac Allister is enjoying a fine campaign for both club and country after helping Argentina win the 2022 FIFA World Cup last year. The Argentine sensation has also produced a run of consistent displays at the centre of Brighton’s midfield.
The 24-year-old has scored 11 times and grabbed two assists in 34 appearances for the Seagulls this season across multiple competitions. Mac Allister has proven his worth by averaging 2.1 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 2.7 shots, 1.2 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even distributed possession well from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 87.7% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Should Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Launch A Move For Mac Allister?
Mac Allister is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his team at the centre of the park. He can strike the ball purely and with venom from long range.
The Argentine talent can also engineer some promising chances for his teammates in the final third. He is a decent dribbler with the ball as well and deserves credit for adding a handful of goals to his game this season.
At 24, Mac Allister will only get better with each season, so Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would be wise to launch a move for him this summer. He is good enough to inject more quality into Liverpool‘s midfield and help the Reds compete for even more major trophies over the next few years. Mac Allister has got a wealth of Premier League experience under his belt and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Merseyside club.
