Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey has praised Black Stars’ new addition, Brandon Thomas Asante, saying he has settled into the team well.
Asante, who plays for West Brom in the English Championship, earned his first Ghana call-up following an impressive performance in the recently concluded season. He scored 12 goals in 43 games for his club.
He watched from the bench as the Black Stars staged a comeback to snatch an important away win over Mali in matchday three of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Jordan Ayew came off the bench to score the winning goal, securing a 2-1 victory over the Eagles of Mali.
“Brandon is good, in my observation. He has settled in well, seems to be enjoying himself, and I think, as you know, he is a good finisher and works hard for the team,” he told GFA media.
Tariq Lamptey delivered an outstanding performance for the Black Stars last Thursday and is expected to take on a starting role against the Central African Republic.
Ghana will host the Wild Beasts of the Central African Republic on Monday night at the Baba Yara Stadium.
