Bournemouth see first bid for Alex Scott rejected by Bristol City

Bournemouth have seen their opening proposal to sign Alex Scott rejected by Bristol City, according to talkSPORT correspondent Alex Crook.

The Cherries tabled a reported £15 million bid to lure Scott away from Ashton Gate Stadium, but their offer has been deemed insufficient by the Championship side.

Scott has been making waves in the English second division with his exceptional performances that have caught the attention of several top-flight clubs.

However, Bristol remains steadfast in their determination to hold onto their prised asset, whose rise to prominence has been nothing short of remarkable.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been a standout performer for Bristol since graduating from the club’s academy and linking up with the first team in the summer of 2021.

Scott finished last season with 49 appearances across all competitions, bagging two goals and five assists and was voted the Championship Young Player of the Season.

There is no telling how far the young Englishman can develop, and the teenager has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League amid interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United, and Newcastle United.

Bournemouth are keen to bolster their squad as they prepare for another potential battle to retain their Premier League status in the coming season, and they have identified Scott as a primary target.

Their opening offer was an indication of their strong desire to secure Scott’s services, but it falls way below Bristol’s valuation, and the Cherries will have to tender an improved proposal before other potential suitors swoop in.

Scott is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in the Championship, and Bristol are aware they will struggle to ward off interest.

However, they are not prepared to let the England under-20 international leave for cheap, with The Robins hoping for a fee north of £25m to sanction the midfielder’s departure.
