Arsenal were linked with a move for Brentford ace Ivan Toney earlier this summer
Arsenal have been urged to snub Saudi-linked Ivan Toney and secure the services of either Alexander Isak or Ollie Watkins. The Gunners will be desperate to land the Premier League trophy for the fourth time in their history this season after narrowly missing out to Manchester City in the last two campaigns.
Arsenal started their top-flight season in style on Saturday as they defeated Wolves 2-0 following a dominant display at the Emirates Stadium.
But former Gunners winger Theo Walcott believes there is still room for improvement in north London.
“I do feel now it is third time lucky for Arsenal,” Walcott explained as he joined Sky Sports and NOW for an exclusive screening of the opening night of the Premier League.
“It was very insightful to watch them in pre-season and fascinating to see the mindset that [Mikel] Arteta has set into his team. When you do that, it is one club together, it’s going to cause a lot of problems – like they did last year.
“I don’t think they need a striker to win the league, but I’d love to see someone like Alexander Isak or Ollie Watkins come in to push the other players. I really think they’ve got the squad to do it.”

Arsenal have been told to pursue Newcastle striker Alexander Isak
Isak finished last season as the third highest scorer in the Premier League after netting 21 top-flight goals in 30 appearances as his Newcastle side finished seventh in the table.
The 24-year-old Sweden striker was previously linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium when he was plying his trade for Real Sociedad in Spain. But he ultimately made the move to St James’ Park after the Magpies shelled out around £60million to bring the player to England.
Watkins, meanwhile, bagged 19 goals and 13 assists in 37 Premier League appearances last term to fire Aston Villa into the Champions League. The 28-year-old dented Arsenal’s title hopes in April after finding the back of the net in Villa’s 2-0 victory in north London.

Arsenal transfer chief Edu may already believe the Gunners have a team that can finally topple the Citizens for Premier League glory this season, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz all at the top of their game.
But the Brazilian will have one eye on any transfer opportunities before the summer window closes at the end of the month.
