Arsenal ‘ready to sell Thomas Partey’ to raise funds for three-man January transfer list
Juventus are ready to offer Moise Kean in a bonkers swap deal to bring Arsenal starlet Charlie Patino to the Allianz Stadium, according to reports. The Italian giants are keen on snapping up Patino to bolster their midfield over the winter.
So keen in fact that Tutto Juve claims they are willing to let first-team regular Kean go to Arsenal in return. The Italian publication adds that Juventus hope to sign Patino alongside Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips in the January transfer window.
Kean will reportedly be “included in the negotiations” for the Arsenal youngster, who has impressed on loan at Swansea City in the Championship this season. Juventus may be able to strike up a deal in January although it is unlikely they will be able to call upon his services this season as he is contracted with the Swans until June.
Patino had been linked with a move away from Arsenal on a permanent basis in the summer in pursuit of regular first-team football. However, a private chat with Mikel Arteta and loan move to Swansea appears to have changed the 20-year-old’s mind.
Juventus want to sign Charlie Patino
In December, Arsenal triggered a two-year extension in Patino’s first professional contract, signed on his 17th birthday, which extends his stay up until the summer of 2025. As this is an extension, not a renewal, Patino remains on the same terms as he did three years ago.
When Arsenal activated the clause they indicated that they would be sitting down with Patino to discuss his long-term future imminently but there have been no big breakthroughs at the time of writing.

Juventus are willing to swap Moise Kean for Patino
Arsenal will want to move quickly in tying down the youngster, who was described by the Arsenal scout that discovered him, Brian Stapleton, as the “best kid he’s seen”. “Of all the years I’ve been scouting, he’s the best kid I’ve ever seen,” said Stapleton during an interview with GOAL.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. He was 11 and I think he was playing in the Under-13s, and I was like ‘wow’. I made a phone call to the head of my department at Arsenal at the time, Sean O’Connor. He asked what I thought and I said, ‘well, I’m not coming back again. I don’t need to see any more, you need to sign this kid straight away.’”
If Arsenal can’t entice Patino to stay beyond 2025 then the Kean deal would be a decent bit of business. Arsenal are in need of a centre-forward and Kean, a regular for Luciano Spalletti’s Italy side, has bags of promise although there are questions surrounding his composure in front of goal.
