Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up 22-year-old Boca Juniors goalkeeper Leandro Brey as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options and provide competition for David Raya next summer.

Despite Espanyol’s Joan Garcia being the Gunners’ primary target, the La Liga club have remained firm that his £25.2million release clause must be met to secure a deal.

This figure could potentially increase if Garcia is selected for the Spain national team due to a clause in his current contract.

Arsenal made two unsuccessful attempts to sign the 23-year-old following Aaron Ramsdale’s summer move to Southampton before eventually securing Neto on loan from Bournemouth.

However, it is not anticipated that the Brazilian veteran will make a permanent switch to north London at the end of the season. Brey is one of several goalkeepers believed to have been scouted by Arsenal according to the Mirror.

Lazio and Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on his progress, and Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme is expected to engage in discussions with various European clubs over a potential sale in the coming months as he seeks to negotiate the best possible deal for the Argentine giants.
