Arsenal in pole position to land 19-goal striker

The player in question is Elye Wahi of Montpellier.
According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal are in pole position to land Montpellier forward Elye Wahi.
It is added that whilst the Gunners are leading the race to sign the forward, the north London club could face significant competition from AS Monaco.
To fend off competition, Arsenal are now set to make an opening offer for Wahi, which is expected to fall short of the player’s valuation, believed to be between €30-35m.
Wahi joined Montpellier in 2018 as a youngster and is now a key figure in their starting line-up despite being just 20 years of age.
He has featured 91 times for their senior side, but it is in 2022/23 where he has truly come into his own.
Wahi netted 19 goals and assisted six in 33 Ligue 1 outings for his current side.
Such impressive form at such a young age is bound to appeal to an Arsenal side who currently lack a striker capable of netting 20 goals a season.
