Joshua Kimmich is reportedly unhappy at Bayern Munich.
English players heading to Germany have proved flavour of the month in recent transfer windows, with Jadon Sancho, Eric Dier and Harry Kane among those to have swapped the Premier League for the Bundesliga.
But according to reports from Germany, one of the Bundesliga’s biggest names could be Premier League-bound.
Joshua Kimmich is reportedly eyeing up a new challenge away from the Allianz Arena, with the 29-year-old believing he’s achieved everything he can with the Bavarian giant.
Understandably, top-flight clubs are believed to be keen, with Arsenal one of the sides most keen.
But with Bayern Munich likely to demand a hefty fee for the German international, Express Sport have picked out three Arsenal players who could be offered as part of a transfer swap for Kimmich.
Eddie Nketiah
On the topic of players searching for new challenges, Eddie Nketiah is likely to be doing just that this summer.
The attacker endured another frustrating season last time out, with Nketiah managing just 10 Premier League starts.
While he’s unlikely to be handed a starting berth at Bayern, a move to the Rekordmeister could still appeal to the 25-year-old.
Eddie Nketiah struggled for minutes last season.
Evident towards the end of the 2023/24 season that injuries are beginning to catch up with Kane, meaning the backup spot at Bayern could be of more importance this upcoming season.
It would also serve up an opportunity to win trophies, with Bayern hungry for silverware after going trophyless last time around.
Jakub Kiwior
Originally joining from Italian side Spezia in January 2023, Jakub Kiwior has failed to impress in an Arsenal shirt, with talk of a move away starting to grow.
If the Gunners are serious about overthrowing Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, they’ll have to enter the season with not only a quality starting XI, but also strength in depth too.
Kiwior would appear a step below the quality Arsenal require to fight on multiple fronts, but the centre-back-turned-left-back could still prove useful for Bayern.
It’s rumoured the 33-time German champions could be about to lose Alphonso Davies, with Real Madrid sniffing around the talented left-back.
If that proves to be the case, Bayern could be tempted by a swap deal involving Kiwior – assuming it also includes a chunk of cash heading their way.
Oleksandr Zinchenko
Oleksandr Zinchenko’s move to Arsenal looked like the steal of the century when he penned a £35million deal from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
Oleksandr Zinchenko came under fire for his performances last season.
A revelation in his first season at the Emirates Stadium, Zinchenko’s stock dropped last time out, with the Ukrainian’s defensive ability criticised.
Zinchenko was also a victim of Mikel Arteta’s system, which saw holding midfielder Jorginho operate in the spaces he was used to inverting into.
But, Zinchenko could find refuge from the Arsenal wilderness with a move to Bayern and given ex-team-mate Vincent Kompany is in charge at the Allianz, it’s unlikely to be a deal that needs much persuasion.
