Ancelotti orders Real Madrid to sign ‘great’ Tottenham forward not named Harry Kane

Real Madrid are starting to realise they can no longer count upon a high profile star and a report has claimed Carlo Ancelotti has ordered a Tottenham raid to remedy the issue.
The chastening 4-0 defeat to Man City on Wednesday night looks certain to have consequences in Madrid. However, the position of manager Ancelotti should not be among them.
In quotes carried by Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti revealed on Saturday: “I met with [club president] Florentino Pérez yesterday and he’s supporting me, he has confidence in me. We’ll continue together.”
With the Italian seemingly set to stay despite links with the Brazil job, all eyes will be on who Real pursue in the summer window.
Jude Bellingham looks set to bolster the midfield and ease the transition away from Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. However, despite reportedly agreeing a one-year extension, concerns are growing over striker Karim Benzema.
The Frenchman was anonymous at the Etihad and multiple reports out of Spain claim a reliable back-up to help lighten the load is wanted.
Liverpool’s impending free agent, Roberto Firmino, was cited, as was Julian Alvarez of Man City. However, according to Defensa Central, Ancelotti has let Real know the player he wants is Richarlison.
That may come as a shock to many given the dire maiden season Richarlison has endured with Tottenham. However, his 10 goals in 10 matches for Brazil in 2022 suggest he can be clinical in the right environment.
What’s more, Ancelotti knows Richarlison well through their time at Everton and the report insists he’s keen to forge a reunion.
Indeed, it’s stated Ancelotti ‘insists on signing Richarlison’ who cost Spurs £60m when signed from Everton last summer.
Ancelotti has reportedly personally asked Florentino Perez to deliver the Brazilian who is labelled a ‘great player’.
Adding to Richarlison’s appeal is the fact he can also cover on the flanks – as he often did in his earlier days at Watford and Everton.
The report notes blockbuster moves for Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe are wanted in 2024. However, whether either of those deals will actually be viable next year is unknown at present.
Richarlison would represent a readymade option for the here and now and given his dubious first campaign in north London, Spurs may be willing to cash in if a suitable offer is made.
