The August 3 card headlined by the super-welterweight fight between Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov is packed with heavyweight action.
Former champion Andy Ruiz Jr is looking to get back into title contention when he takes on Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller. Miller is coming off a first career defeat when he was stopped by Daniel Dubois in Saudi Arabia at the end of last year.
The man who shares Miller’s ‘Big Baby’ nickname, Jared Anderson, also features on the undercard. Anderson has been branded as America’s next heavyweight hope by former WBC champion and sparring partner, Tyson Fury.
The 24-year-old has one of the best knockout records in all of boxing, with 15 of his 17 victories coming inside the distance with the exciting prospect yet to taste defeat.
Pundits are predicting that Anderson will face the toughest test of his career to date when he takes on Martin Bakole in Los Angeles.
Bakole only has one loss on his record, a stoppage defeat to Michael Hunter six years ago. His last outing was arguably his best performance, a TKO victory over world title challenger Carlos Takam, leading his promoter Ben Shalom to label him as ‘the most avoided man’ in boxing.
Speaking about the upcoming fight, Bakole’s trainer Billy Nelson told IFL TV that’s he’s confident of an early finish.
“I’m very confident that Martin will stop Anderson and I think it will be early.
He would have never ever faced anybody like Martin Bakole before, he won’t have. He’ll win and move on. No problem. He will win.”
Anderson vs Bakole takes place on August 3 in Los Angeles and is part of the first ever Riyadh Season event to be hosted outside of The Kingdom.
