Americans Abroad Weekend Rewind: Robinson, Musah and more – SBI Soccer
Antonee Robinson returned to the Fulham starting lineup on Saturday and walked away with a strong 90 minutes under his belt.
Robinson returned alongside fellow U.S. men’s national team teammate Tim Ream in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with London rivals Crystal Palace. The 26-year-old didn’t put a foot wrong in the match, winning eight duels, making four interceptions, two tackles and 11 recoveries as the Cottagers left Selhurst Park with one point.
Robinson has been joined by Belgian international Timothy Castagne in the left back ranks and will face stiff competition for the remainder of the season. However, his familiarity in Marco Silva’s squad could see him hold on to the No. 1 job heading into the fall schedule.
In England, Matt Turner and Nottingham Forest suffered a 2-0 loss to Manchester City.
In Italy, Yunus Musah excelled in his first AC Milan start of the new season.
In Germany, Joe Scally and Borussia Moenchengladbach fell at home to RB Leipzig. John Brooks excelled in Hoffenheim’s road victory over Union Berlin.
In Spain, Luca De La Torre assisted once in Celta Vigo’s loss to Barcelona.
Elsewhere, Ricardo Pepi came off the bench to score for PSV. Alex Mendez came off the bench to set up the tying goal for FC Vizela. Joe Gyau did not dress for Swedish side Degerfors. Sebastian Saucedo dressed but was unused in FC Juarez’s home loss in Liga MX play.
