Alejandro Garnacho had a run-in with a Man Utd fan.
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has been sent four orders after refusing to celebrate his wondrous goal against Leicester City earlier this month. Garnacho came off the bench to finish the scoring in United’s 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, hours after being berated by a supporter outside the stadium.
The supposed fan was recording a live stream while players arrived at the tunnel and told the 20-year-old to improve parts of his game, to which he bit back with a comment of his own.
Garnacho has been United’s most productive forward this season, scoring eight goals and registering four assists in 20 appearances.
However, his indecisiveness in the final third and his contribution to the team’s poor chance conversion rate have caused frustration.
After muting his celebration against Leicester, club captain Bruno Fernandes confirmed he felt like he had lost the fanbase’s faith due to social media and in-person criticism.
Garnacho scored his latest goal of the season in last night’s 3-2 Europa League victory over Bodo/Glimt at Old Trafford.
And ex-Arsenal striker Alan Smith has urged the United No. 17 to ignore external noise, spend less time on social media, focus on his game and, most importantly, listen to his new boss, Ruben Amorim.
Alejandro Garnacho refused to celebrate vs Leicester.
“He’s a young lad still. I think as you get older, you can shrug it off more. I mean, he’s been one of their better players. He’s such a brilliant talent,” Alan Smith told Express Sport with Ace Odds.
“It’s a bit of a mystery why you would get to stick off anybody. I saw that little video clip of some supporter outside the ground.
“You get it, and as you get older, you don’t take any notice of it. He’s a young lad, and he’s one to cherish. He is for the next few years, for United.
“He just needs to ignore the noise from outside. The fans in Old Trafford have adopted Ronaldo’s song for him, and they love him. Why wouldn’t you with what he’s produced?

“You’re always going to have your critics. I would always tell players to stay off social media, but I don’t think they do. They’ll find it hard to do that.
“Just concentrate on your game. Listen to your manager. If he’s happy with you, if your teammates are happy with you, you’re doing the right thing.”
Garnacho is at the forefront of Amorim’s plans, starting both his matches in charge so far as the left-sided attacking midfielder in his 3-4-3 system.
He endured more inconsistency in front of goal after his first-minute tap-in against Glimt. However, Smith’s advice is worth listening to, as are the chants of ‘Viva Garnacho’ every time he steps on the pitch.
