Manchester United are on the verge of completing a huge double deal for £60million as Erik ten Hag continues to spend to assemble his squad for the new Premier League season.

The Red Devils are splashing out on Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, with the Dutch centre-back poised to sign a long-term contract ahead of his £43m transfer. De Ligt will be joined by his Bayern team-mate Noussair Mazraoui after a £17m package was agreed with the Bundesliga giants, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s impending move to West Ham freeing up a space for the right-back.

But Ten Hag could yet bring in further reinforcements following their Community Shield penalty shootout defeat to Manchester City as INEOS CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe weighs up providing further backing to the the Dutchman.

Serie A outfit line up Pellistri

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri is being lined up for a potential move to Bologna before the transfer window closes.

The Uruguayan came on as a substitute during the Community Shield but he is regarded as backup to Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna could move to sign the 22-year-old, with the two clubs already doing business once this summer in facilitating Joshua Zirkzee’s move to Old Trafford.

The Serie A outfit were previously interested in a loan move, but with Pellistri’s deal expiring in 2025, United could be open to a permanent sale.

Man Utd can snap up ex-target for free

Manchester United could secure the services of Sergi Roberto for free, seven years after the Red Devils launched an unsuccessful bid for the Barcelona academy graduate.

Fabrizio Romano reports the 32-year-old is preparing to leave Barcelona as a free agent after failing to earn a new contract – ending his 18-year spell with the club.

While never really establishing himself as a mainstay in La Blaugrana’s first team, Roberto has notched close to 400 senior appearances and won two Champions League titles.

Things could’ve worked out much differently for the midfielder though, had a proposed transfer to United gone through seven years ago. Now available to sign for free, United might choose to turn to the utility man if they decide against signing Ugarte.

France star set to reject United interest

Manchester United are set to miss out on AS Monaco star Youssouf Fofana this summer.

The Red Devils had reportedly listed the France international as a target alongside Manuel Ugarte as Erik ten Hag considers strengthening his midfield.

But Gazzetta dello Sport claim Fofana is ready to snub a lucrative transfer to Old Trafford in favour of sealing a move to AC Milan.

De Ligt comments on Mazraoui move ahead of medical

Matthijs de Ligt has been spotted at Munich airport early this morning preparing to board his flight to Manchester as the incoming Manchester United star made a comment about Noussair Mazraoui.

De Ligt is flying in to complete his medical ahead of a £42million switch from Bayern Munich and the 24-year-old is set to be joined by Mazraoui at Old Trafford.

After getting out of his car, De Ligt reportedly told reporters: “Noussair is waiting for me!” as he walked past them.

Ten Hag offered La Liga free agent

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign free agent Mario Hermoso following his departure from Atletico Madrid.

Erik ten Hag is set to meet the club to discuss their final signings before the transfer window and the Daily Mail report the centre-back is one of their prime positions to strengthen, even after landing Matthijs de Ligt.

Hermoso, 29, is an experienced defender and could provide cover for the injured Leny Yoro, who is out for at least two months with a foot injury.

INEOS weigh up £50m striker bid

Manchester United are weighing up a late £50million summer deal for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.

The Red Devils have been monitoring the Republic of Ireland international since he made his debut and there are concerns they could be beaten by Chelsea to the 19-year-old’s signature.

According to the Daily Star, INEOS CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe could be tempted to launch a £50m bid for the teenager, who is currently out injured.

United started the Community Shield with Bruno Fernandes up front with Rasmus Hojlund out injured and Joshua Zirkzee not yet match fit, with Ferguson viewed as a long-term signing for the future.
