Express Sport brings you all the latest
With pre-season now well underway and Euro 2024 becoming a distant memory, Premier League clubs have began ramping up their transfer plans this summer.
Manchester United and Chelsea have been among the busiest clubs in the window so far, with both sides conducting major rebuilds following disappointing campaigns.
In contrast, last year’s title challengers Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are all hoping to keep their business concise with injections of top-quality signings rather than completely resetting their current squads.
Express Sport provides LIVE transfer updates and gossip below…
Man Utd considering signing second striker after Zirkzee
Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Brentford forward Ivan Toney if his price tag is decreased.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have been linked with the England international previously, though Toney remains on the books of Brentford which has left the door open for United to consider a move.
According to GiveMeSport, the Red Devils are considering opening talks with Thomas Frank’s side to discuss a move for the 28-year-old. However, they will only look to strike a deal if Toney’s price tag is reduced to £40million or below.
United are aware that the striker won’t put pen to paper on a new contract with Brentford and, with his deal expiring with the club next summer, they believe that the Bees could reluctantly accept a lesser offer for the forward.

Liverpool plotting £98m double deal
Liverpool are preparing a double swoop for Wolves duo Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pedro Neto, reports GiveMeSport.
The Reds are hoping to bolster their ranks at both ends of the pitch ahead of next season, with bringing in a new left-sided defender among their priorities.
Ait-Nouri, who has a £38million release clause, fits the bill in that regard and has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City previously, though Liverpool will hope the prospect of heading to Anfield with current teammate Neto proves persuasive.
The Reds are said to have already held talks with Jorge Mendes, the agent of Neto, to sound out their interest in signing the Portuguese playmaker – and his £60m asking price has not proved a sticking point during those early conversations.
United identify £67m midfield target
Manchester United have identified Morten Hjulmand as a midfield target if they are unable to reach an agreement with PSG for Manuel Ugarte.
That is according to FootballTransfers, who claim that the Red Devils are assessing their options in search of midfield reinforcements.
Sporting are in no rush to part ways with Hjulmand though, meaning that United may be forced to activate his £67miillion release clause to secure the signature of the Denmark international if he is pursued.
Arsenal in negotiations for club-record deal
Fulham are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe.
The Athletic report than talks are ongoing over a transfer worth up to £35million, with Marco Silva’s side now leading the race to secure the signature of the England international over Crystal Palace.
Smith Rowe would become Fulham’s most-expensive signing if he puts pen to paper at Craven Cottage, as well as Arsenal’s joint-biggest sale.
