Man Utd have named a 29-man squad for their USA tour.
Manchester United have confirmed their 29-man squad for this summer’s pre-season tour of the United States after jetting off from the UK on Wednesday. Erik ten Hag has a mix of experienced and youthful options for three Stateside friendlies, but several major names are absent.
United have flown to Los Angeles, where they will face fellow Premier League giants Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
The Red Devils will then meet La Liga outfit Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego next Thursday before clashing with bitter rivals Liverpool in South Carolina three days later.
Ten Hag’s side have already played two pre-season friendlies – a 1-0 defeat against Rosenborg in Trondheim and a 2-0 win over Rangers in Edinburgh.
Many of the first-team players who featured in those two games will be present in the United States, joined by stars who reported back to Carrington in recent days.
Senior duo Andre Onana and Tom Heaton are joined by youngsters Radek Vitek and Dermot Mee as the goalkeeper’s union.
United’s £52million signing Leny Yoro is on the plane, joining Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans as the available first-team defenders.
Academy names Sam Murray, Rhys Bennett, Will Fish, and Harry Amass make up Ten Hag’s defensive ranks.
Leny Yoro will feature in the US.
Casemiro, Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and Hannibal represent the senior midfielders that have travelled across the Atlantic.
United’s engine room has been bulked up by starlets Toby Collyer – primed for a breakout season – Maxi Oyedele, Jack Fletcher, Sam Mather and James Scanlon.
The Red Devils also boast an all-star attack, which is almost at full strength following the recent return of Rasmus Hojlund – confirmed as the club’s new No. 9.
Hojlund is joined by Ethan Wheatley as Ten Hag’s centre forwards, with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Amad and Antony acting as wide options.
Sancho made his return to the pitch for United in the first half against Rangers on Saturday and is expected to play a full part in pre-season after settling his differences with Ten Hag earlier this month.
He had spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after a four-month banishment from first-team training at Carrington.
