William Saliba and Bukayo Saka are among those not travelling with the squad
Arsenal have confirmed that Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and five other players will not travel to the United States for their pre-season tour. The Gunners have named a 26-man squad with a mix of experienced players and young talent for their matches against Bournemouth, Manchester United and Liverpool.
In a statement, it was confirmed that players who were involved in the latter stages of Euro 2024 will not join up with the rest of the squad. It means Saka, Saliba, Aaron Ramsdale, David Raya and Declan Rice will stay at home to rest and recuperate ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu will also remain in London to receive treatment on their respective injuries. The former picked up a hamstring issue while playing for Scotland at the Euros, while the latter was spotted in training last week but is said to have sustained a knee problem.
Mikel Arteta has opted for a mix of youth and experience in his 26-man squad
Arsenal have named four young goalkeepers in their pre-season squad, with new arrival Tommy Setford among those chosen. He will be joined by Karl Hein, Lucas Nygaard and Alexi Rojas in the absence of Ramsdale and Raya.
Ben White, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber are the senior defenders involved and will be accompanied by youngsters Josh Nichols, Ayden Heaven and Omar Rekik.
