Anthony Martial’s future is up in the air after his Man Utd exit
Como are keen to sign Anthony Martial on a free transfer following his Man Utd exit this summer.
The Frenchman is considering several offers after his contract at Old Trafford expired at the end of June.
Como, where Cesc Fabregas is assistant coach, have expressed their interest in him over the phone, having also held face-to-face discussions with Raphael Varane – according to the Mirror.
Despite the odds being stacked against them, Como remain hopeful of securing a surprise deal for the former Real Madrid defender next week.
Since their promotion to Serie A, Como have been targeting big names and have already signed Andrea Belotti and Marseille goalkeeper Pau Lopez on loan.
Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina and left-back Alberto Moreno are also expected on free transfers after departing Villarreal.
Martial has also garnered interest from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and France, with Lyon and Marseille contemplating a move, but he has not yet committed to a transfer.
