Antonio Conte will be formally presented as the new coach of Napoli today in a grand ceremony at the legendary Palazzo Reale.
The tactician already signed the three-year contract on June 5, having been out of work since leaving Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent in March 2023.
He arrived in Naples with his wife on Tuesday, where he had a meeting with President Aurelio De Laurentiis, director Giovanni Manna and other members of staff, as well as agent Mario Giuffredi.
They then went out for dinner and De Laurentiis will be at Conte’s side today in the presentation press conference this afternoon at approximately 14.00 UK time.
Conte welcomed like royalty
It is not being hosted by the usual venues for sporting events, but rather at the Palazzo Reale – the Royal Palace – which is now a museum and library.
This was the royal residence of the Bourbons in the 18th and 19th centuries, with the iconic San Carlo theatre on the adjacent grounds.
Over 100 journalists have been given media accreditation for the event, but they had to limit the total number of people present to 400.
Pre-season training is planned for the Dimaro Folgarida camp from July 11 to 21.
