Bayern Munich have extended Aleksandar Pavlovic’s contract through to 2029.
The 20-year-old midfielder — who joined the club as a seven-year-old — enjoyed a breakout campaign for Bayern in 2023-24, scoring two goals in 22 first-team appearances.
His club form earned him a call-up to Germany’s Euro 2024 squad but he was forced to withdraw from camp after suffering a bout tonsillitis.
Pavlovic said on Sunday: “Unfortunately, this tonsillitis has denied me my dream of playing in the European Championship on home turf, which is very disappointing – but I’m thrilled that my contract with FC Bayern has been extended until 2029.
“It shows the club has trust in me, which I’m eager to repay. FC Bayern is my home. I’m proud, happy and grateful, want to win trophies with the team and continue my personal development.”

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said: “It was a nice story for all of us to see how much Aleksandar Pavlović has developed in recent months. He established himself as an integral part of the first team in his first season and became a national player.
“Despite his young age, he radiates calmness and gives a team security. He carries FC Bayern in his heart and we will still have a lot of fun with him.”
Board member for sport Max Eberl added: “Aleksandar Pavlović is the kind of player we want him to be – and the way FC Bayern fans want him to be: a Munich native who made his way to the first team at FC Bayern from an early age. He is a role model of how to assert oneself at the highest level.
“Such players stand for FC Bayern’s identity and are prime examples of youth development at our FC Bayern Campus. Aleks should become one of the faces of the future of our team.”
Munich-born Pavlović made his Bundesliga debut against Borussia Dortmund in November, marking the occasion with his first of two assists in 2023/24.
He made three appearances during Bayern’s run to the Champions League semi-finals.
