I'm A Celeb fans 'howling' after campmate names Premier League star they'd swap lives with

I’m A Celebrity fans were left ‘howling’ after one campmate revealed which Premier League star he would love to swap lives with.

In Wednesday’s episode (December 4), a clip was shown of the celebrities discussing their lives and if there were any other famous faces they would like to trade places with.

Fans watching on at home admitted that they did not predict who Reverend Richard Coles would name as the star he’s envious of.

He claimed that he would want to trade places with a current Premier League star.

Many viewers said that they wouldn’t have predicted his answer even if they had ‘a million guesses’.

Reverend Richard Coles had already been fascinating his fellow contestants and viewers alike by recounting his days as a pop star when he was a member of The Communards.

It included tales of him buying a boat and raving in Ibiza, before he eventually became a Reverend. However he admitted that he would like to live the life of Premier League star Kevin de Bruyne.

While speaking to McFly’s Danny Jones, Podcaster GK Barry and Coleen Rooney, he asked them: “Which celebrity life would you most like to experience?”

Coleen said she would like to live a day in the life of a member of the Royal family, although Richard quipped: “You practically are a royal. If there was a vote, you would be.”

When asked the same question, Richard quickly responded: “Kevin de Bruyne. I’d love to be someone who was good at sport. I’d like to experience what it’s like to light up a midfield. I’d love to be able to experience what it’s like to be able to read a game. I’d love to be able to make goals, score goals.”

Coleen said: “I’ve met Kevin a few times. He’s lovely and a lovely family.”

Richard added: “He’s my favourite footballer, after Wayne Rooney, and not my team at all but I just love watching him play. I just wish I could do that. It’s so different from anything I can do. Never gonna happen.”

Manchester City star de Bruyne has picked up six Premier League trophies during his spell at the Etihad and is considered one of the best players to ever grace the league. Although it wasn’t always smooth sailing for the Belgian, as he struggled at Chelsea before returning to England following a spell in the German Bundesliga.

Viewers at home couldn’t get enough of Richard’s revelations. One fan, reacting to the moment on social media, said: ” Howling that Richard would love to live a day in the life of De Bruyne.”

Another, who have Richard as a favourite for the final added: “I wanted Rev Richard to win I’m a celeb anyway but hearing him say he adores Kevin de Bruyne has cemented it. What a man.”

While a third added: “Did NOT think, of all the people in the world, Rev Richard would wanna be Kevin De Bruyne for a day He clearly knows ball.”

Many people claimed that they would never have guessed the famous person Richard would want to be as another admitted: “You could’ve given me a million guesses at what celebrity’s life Reverend Richard Coles wanted and I don’t think I’d have ever said Kevin De Bruyne.”
