Ruben Amorim considers Kobbie Mainoo a crucial player in his Manchester United project and agrees with club figures that Leny Yoro is a generational talent, according to reports. The talented teenagers are set for salient roles in Amorim’s Old Trafford revolution, and the former is expected to commit his future to the project soon.

Erik ten Hag made no secret that the two major trophies he lifted at United were the pièce de résistance of his two-and-a-half-year reign.

But the Dutchman was also pivotal in the club’s continued efforts to introduce exciting young talent into the first-team picture.

Alejandro Garnacho established himself as a regular starter in Ten Hag’s maiden season in charge. It was Kobbie Mainoo’s turn in his second.

Other debuts saw the tally of United academy graduates to make their senior bow surpass the 250 mark, and that tradition will continue with Amorim at the helm.

The 39-year-old coach regularly placed faith in youth at Sporting, heavily contributing to his successful mission of restoring the club to the summit of Portuguese football.

He will be glistening with excitement at the prospect of inheriting a squad that features prospects in the ilk of Yoro, Mainoo, Garnacho, Amad and Rasmus Hojlund.

Yoro and Mainoo, in particular, are said to stand at the forefront of Amorim’s plans as he prepares to enter the hot seat for the first time this week.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Mainoo is considered essential among United’s owners, board and staff, including Amorim.

It’s claimed the 19-year-old midfielder’s new contract will be a hot topic in the coming weeks and months amid ongoing efforts to tie him down.

Discussions are expected to accelerate with the November international break soon in the rear mirror, and the mood is reportedly positive across all parties.

The report adds that Amorim sees Yoro as one of the most desirable players to develop for his long-term vision in Manchester.

Yoro joined United in a £59million deal from Lille in the summer but is yet to make his competitive debut, spending three months on the sidelines due to a pre-season foot injury.

Romano claims that there is an agreement that the French defender, in the final stages of his recovery, has the potential to be one of the world’s best in his position.

Yoro could be in his first matchday squad as early as Amorim’s first game in charge this Sunday at Ipswich Town.

The 19-year-old will likely be eased into action but should become a core cog in the 3-4-3 system Amorim has been widely tipped to instil at Old Trafford.
