Arsenal will be hoping to maintain their winning form in the Champions League when they host Shakhtar Donetsk this evening. The north Londoners are yet to lose in this year’s competition, having drawn with Atalanta before easing past Paris Saint-Germain.

They are the overwhelming favourites to beat Shakhtar, who will need to outdo themselves to get a result at the Emirates Stadium. Another victory for Arsenal would take them ever closer to reaching the knockout stages without needing to go into the play-offs.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping for an immediate response from his players following their defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday. William Saliba was sent off in that game but will be available to face Shakhtar, with his ban only applying to domestic competitions.

The match will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video, with coverage starting from 7pm ahead of kick-off an hour later. Gabby Logan will be the main presenter alongside pundits Gael Clichy, Laura Georges and Lee Dixon.

Jon Champion will be on commentary duties with Alan Shearer alongside him on the gantry.

Why is the game not on TNT Sports?

All matches in the Champions League have been shown on TNT Sports in recent years, but that is no longer the case. Amazon signed a three-year deal with UEFA for broadcast rights worth £1.5 billion, gaining a pick of games for Tuesday fixtures.

Prime subscribers can watch tonight’s match at the Emirates Stadium for no additional cost. For those not subscribed, a membership package costs £8.99 per month and £95 per year.

Early team news

Arsenal will remain without Martin Odegaard, who is still sidelined with the knee injury he picked up last month. Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber may also be sidelined after missing training on Monday afternoon.

Saka has been struggling with a hamstring injury he sustained while representing England and did not feature for Arsenal in their recent loss to Bournemouth. Timber, meanwhile, has been out since the start of this month with a muscular problem.

Arteta could decide to name a changed side after Saturday’s defeat at the Vitality Stadium. Jorginho will be hoping to feature in midfield if Thomas Partey is rested, while Ethan Nwaneri is an option to add some extra creativity in the final third.
