Bernardo Silva has spilled the beans on which of his team-mates would take the crown in a brawl, leaving out Erling Haaland despite his formidable build. During a light-hearted Q&A session with Pro:Direct Soccer and Twitch sensation Angry Ginge, a known Manchester United fan, Silva speedily judged on the qualities of his squad mates.

He named Phil Foden as the most deft, Kyle Walker as the lightening runner, while John Stones tppl the prize for sharp dressing. But when tossed the curveball question: “Who is the hardest in a fight?” Silva dropped quite the reveal, chuckling as he said: “For me, it’s a mix of like strength and craziness as well, so I’m going here.”

With a swift turn of his board, he flashed Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson’s name. In contrast, Angry Ginge had penned Haaland’s name, sharing: “He is massive.” Recognising the suggestion, Silva acknowledged: “Yeah, but Ederson is crazy and strong as well. I wouldn’t want to get in a fight with Ederson to be honest.”

The chat didn’t stop at tough talk. In a surprising snippet, Silva also uncovered that Jack Grealish takes supremely lengthy showers. Labelled as having superior music sense and being the top joker by his Portuguese mate, Grealish was also teased for spending ample time preening himself.

Revealing his choice, Silva said with emphasis: “Jack spends a lot of time – a LOT of time – taking care of himself,” reports the Mirror. Elsewhere, Silva has also shed light on the workings of Manchester City under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, providing insights that fans rarely glimpse.

Speaking about daily routines he said: “If we have training in the morning, I leave the training ground at around 1pm, 1.30pm.” The midfielder added detail about their schedule: “We start training at 11am most of the time. We finish at 12.30pm I imagine. At 1.30pm I’m out.”

Pressed by Angry Ginge on what comes after practice, Silva clarified: “It depends. But most of the time, we only have one training session per day.” On discussing rest periods, Silva divulged: “Pep is very generous to us, but with the schedule nowadays it is not easy.

“So I would say once per week we get a day off. It’s not much, but we take it.” City’s routine may be succinct, but it’s effective; their trophy cabinet has expanded significantly with six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a Champions League trophy since Guardiola took the helm.

Eight matches into the 2024/25 season, City are one point adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool. The defending champions kept the heat on the Reds over the weekend with a last-gasp 2-1 win over Wolves, while Liverpool themselves triumphed by the same scoreline against Chelsea.
