Real Madrid have reportedly been ‘compiling reports’ on Tottenham defender Pedro Porro, who recently seemed to invite interest from the European giants.

Los Blancos are scouring the market for defensive reinforcements ahead of next summer, with new fullbacks viewed as a priority. Bayern Munich ace Alphonso Davies has been shortlisted as the club’s top left-back target, and he could be available as a free agent next summer unless he pens a new deal at the Allianz Arena.

At right-back, several options are being explored. Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has been cited as the dream target for Madrid, but other alternatives are also being lined up.

According to The Athletic, Porro is among those who has admirers at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish giants have been compiling ‘positive reports’ on the defender for years, though there is an awareness that striking a deal to sign the 25-year-old is likely to prove a very tricky affair.

Porro’s contract in north London does not expire until 2028, and Daniel Levy has a reputation for being a tough negotiator who does not allow his top players to leave unless his hand is truly forced.

Like Alexander-Arnold, Porro is not a traditional fullback. Instead, the former Sporting star is a major threat in the final third with his driving runs from deep and willingness to cut inside and influence play centrally.

However, Porro recently talked up how he is ready to pull on the iconic white strip of Madrid in an interview with Relevo, which is unlikely to have gone down well with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.

Asked about the prospect of joining Los Blancos in the future, the defender said: “It fills you with excitement, doesn’t it? “You have to focus on your work, but the fact that Real Madrid is interested in you is because you are doing things well. That’s how I think about it on a day-to-day basis. Well, if that moment has to come, it will come. And if it doesn’t, well, I’ll just keep working as I have been doing.

“If I get the chance to make that leap tomorrow, I will be prepared for that very reason. I will have much more experience. If you had told me this years ago, I would have told you that I wasn’t. Because I’m being honest. Let’s see what happens.”
