£250,000-a-week player responds to claims Newcastle want to make him their record signing
Joao Felix seems to have turned down speculation linking the Chelsea loanee with a move to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
According to a report in Marca this week, Newcastle United want to sign Chelsea loanee Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2023.
The the £250,000-a-week (The Sun) Portugal international forward is on loan at Chelsea from Atletico at the moment.
The 23-year-old, who can operate as a forward, winger or attacking midfielder, joined Chelsea on loan from La Liga club Atletico in the January transfer window.
Marca have reported that Newcastle are ready to pay €100 million (£87 million) to Atletico for Felix and make him their record signing.
The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that only Newcastle are willing to cough up €100 million (£87 million) for the youngster.
And, as you can see from the post below, Felix has dismissed that suggestion.

Joao Felix to Newcastle United could happen
In our view, Newcastle United could be able to sign Joao Felix in the summer transfer window.
If Chelsea decide not to make the loan deal of the Portugal international permanent at the end of the season, then Newcastle would be a very good option for Felix.
Newcastle are very likely to play in the UEFA Champions League next season, and under PIF and manager Eddie Howe, they are going places.
The Magpies are a very progressive club, and we believe that Felix would flourish at Newcastle.
