  home

During 1921 Aga Samad Ali Shah, a member of the family of the 48th Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah, as a representative of British India visited Kashghar China through Hunza on a official visit. On way back from China during  1922 he met with the Ismaili community at different villages and informed them about the Ismaili Tariqah and the messages and guidance of  Imam Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah. During his visit he stressed to construct Jamat Khana (Ismaili Mosque) and emphasized to be strong on faith and practice. This visit has great significance in the life of the elders and most of the elders remember his visit and relate their ages and other past events according to this visit. In Karimabad polo ground he predicted that you will see the sun at this place. Later after 39 years in 1960 the 49th Imam for the first time gave his Didari to the Jamat of Hunza. After one year Sir Sultan Muhamad Shah sent Pir Sabz Ali to visit Ismailies of Hunza, Badakhshan, and Turkistan. During his visit he conveyed the guidance of Imam to the Jamat and laid foundation of Jamat Khanas and introduced the Ismaili practices in these areas.
