It is said that a Wakhi Prince Mir Quthlogh with Wakhies from Wakhan occupied Gojal and created their own rule for many years. However, the actual date and territory is not known from any source. It is said that this independent principality survived for a period of about 7-12 years. According to oral traditions the two gates, one in Chamangul, Gulmit and another at Khyber was constructed during the reign of this Prince to defend the territory. The remaining of these gates and walls still exist at Chamangul. It is said that later Mir of Hunza killed Mir Quthlogh and all his family members in Gulmit with the help of an old women. It is said that at that time she killed about 22 members of the same family during night time by giving them poison. The graveyard of this family was bulldozed and building was constructed for F.G Middle School Gulmit. It is said that the houses, where the family was killed were buried by local people. From this family only a girl was survived. The land of the family was occupied by Mir of Hunza and later gifted to their foster relatives. Some land was given to the person who was taking care of the surviving family member. It is said that during recent times different household equipments were recovered while digging and leveling of the fields where the houses were said to be buried. According to another theory Mir Quthlogh was the descendent of Mahmood who with their other two brothers Bori and Chorshumbi settled in Gulmit. In Support of this theory the people belonging to these tribes argue that the lands below and above the family of Mir Quthlogh belongs to people from Bori Kuthor and Chorshimbi Kuthor and the surviving family member was also in care of Chorshimbi Kutor. One of the lady from this family named Safar Numo was living in house of Muhammad Panna who was later married in Sost.
